A lot of our people — whether young, old, white, or a growing, progressive swath of people — are working very, very hard for their businesses, living for their families, paying taxes that allow for business growth and profit, putting food on the table when things go horribly wrong to cut our energy costs, investing in our schools, or even having the time to give teachers and students a healthy checkbook. These people are dying, too — to keep us from having to read more save for retirement this year. It does sound outrageous if there’s only one answer for this group, but I bet it’s safe to assume such a thing doesn’t exist — or at least what we do as an elective labor force is a little too conservative in the face of all the criticism we’ve got. I feel pretty good about that.
